A little about me, my background, and the work behind this website.
My name is Benjamin Bairrington (Benny/Beanie). I am a researcher, writer, teacher, and creative builder with a background spanning mathematics, physics, education, animation, and independent projects. My academic work has focused especially on dynamical systems, number-theoretic functions, and computational research, while my broader work includes teaching, visual media, and long-form creative projects.
This website brings those different parts together in one place: art, writing, animation, photography, and personal projects, alongside some of the research and technical work that shaped them.
My current mathematical interests center on ergodic theory and dynamical systems, especially where they connect with arithmetic and number-theoretic questions. I am particularly interested in the structural and asymptotic behavior of iterative maps. At the same time, my recent physics work has involved astrophysical data analysis, statistical modeling, and the study of stellar clusters and galactic environments.
Working in astrophysics on stellar clusters, environmental structure, and data-driven analysis using statistical and geometric methods.
Conducted independent research in number theory and dynamical systems, culminating in a master’s thesis and publications on Collatz-type problems.
Taught English in China across elementary school, high school, and university settings, and also worked in editorial roles involving international communication and publication.
Contributed 2D and 3D assets, concept art, presentations, and team coordination for a Unity-based game project.
My published and ongoing work spans mathematics, physics, and interdisciplinary collaboration. A few representative pieces are listed below.
I have also worked on creative and reflective writing, editorial projects, and long-form personal works that sit somewhat outside ordinary academic categories.
In addition to English, I have studied Chinese extensively and have also studied Russian.
While some parts of my background are academic and technical, this site is not meant to be a formal institution-facing profile. It is a more human and open collection of the things I have worked on, explored, and cared enough to preserve. If you are here because of the art, the writing, the photography, the research, or simple curiosity, you are very welcome.
